A poorly crafted one can cost you the chance to talk to the decision-makers.
Hiring managers and their support partners in HR are daily bombarded with résumés, both solicited and unsolicited. Most of them are irrelevant. Because of this, attention spans tend to be short. People are used to getting swamped with lots of duds. And so, fingers always hover over that Delete button. This dynamic works even against great candidates, most especially if their résumés aren't top-notch.
What's required here is a résumé that grabs attention, and keeps it just long enough to communicate the correct essentials about you. This in turn should inspire a wish to speak with you. That should be the sole mission of the résumé. Most people don't know how to achieve this. It's where I come into play. As a former executive recruiter, I've reviewed tens of thousands of résumés. I've placed hundreds of professionals. I know what works and what doesn't.
The job changing process, too, is fraught with pitfalls and confusing situations. Let an experienced headhunter guide you through it!
